Development of eutectic
fixed points for contact thermometry
The aim of this project is to develop more reliable
measurement techniques for very high temperatures (1100°
to 2500°C). It concerns both the national laboratories,
where new temperature standards - thermometric fixed
points - are being developed, and industrial environments
where it is difficult to control high temperatures (eg.
in the manufacture of heat shielding for space vehicles
or brake systems for aircraft or high speed trains).
These new standards will eventually lead to redefinition
of the international temperature scale.

Development of a black body
reference at 3000°C
The aim of this study is to develop and characterize
the metrological resources needed by industry to calibrate
optical pyrometers up to 3000°C and to the lowest
uncertainties. It will also cover the development of
a new reference in the UV radiometry field.
