10th Seminar on Quantitative Microscopy (QM) and 6th Seminar on Calibration Standards and Methods in the micro- and nanometre range
This year, international seminar NanoScale 2013 is organised both by LNE and PTB, under the aegis of EURAMET. It will mainly focus on microscopy techniques in the micro- and nanometre range used in metrology, and will enable metrologists to take stock of the latest developments and research results in the field of nanometrology.
LNE’s nanometrology team will present 2 posters entitled:
A visit of LNE’s laboratories will take place at the end of the seminar.

Workshop on Biofuels characterization: the role of metrology in technical and economic development of biofuels
LNE has been organising a workshop on “Biofuels characterization: the role of metrology in technical and economic development of biofuels” under European project BIOFUELS, which focuses on 1st generation biofuels. The workshop is intended for National Metrology Laboratories, universities as well as industrial partners in the sector.
It will be an opportunity to present the results achieved since 2010 under European project BIOFUELS, and all participants will be able to exchange on the identification of potential needs in the field of biofuels characterization – bioethanol and biodiesel – and to initiate future collaborations on this matter.
A wide range of speakers will take part in the workshop. Kyriakos Maniatis from DG Energy will present the European perspectives on biofuels. He will be followed by Philippe Cloutier, a representative of CECOD, who will address the issues concerning legal metrology linked to biofuels distribution. Finally, Humberto Brandi and Hratch Semerjian, guests from INMETRO (Brazil) and NIST (USA), will share their views on the subject.
16th International Flow Measurement Conference (Flomeko 2013)
The 16th International Flow Measurement Conference (Flomeko 2013) will be held in Paris from September 24 to 26 under the auspices of CFM, LNE and its associated laboratories CESAME EXADEBIT, CETIAT and TRAPIL, and with the support of EDF, GDF SUEZ, ONERA and PTB.
Flomeko 2013 will be an opportunity for users of flowmeter and anemometer measurements in various industrial fields such as energy, aeronautics, chemistry, health and environment to exchange ideas with scholars and researchers from national metrology laboratories.
16th International Congress of Metrology
As a meeting between industry and science, it is organized around presentations, poster sessions, round tables, exhibitions showcasing innovations and solutions with metrology specialists and technical site visits.
