6-8 April - LNE / Paris

"Metrological traceability in the globalisation age" - IMEKO conference TC 8, 23, 24

This three-day conference will focus on the new needs in measurement traceability that are appearing in the age of globalization. Three IMEKO technical committees – TC8 (Traceability in metrology), TC23 (Metrology in food and nutrition) and TC24 (Chemical measurements) – will take stock of improvements made in the reliability, comparability and traceability of measurements in the environmental, health and food sectors, and assess the development of metrological tools such as reference materials, reference methods, calibration and aptitude tests.

LNE will make a key contribution, presenting its work in this field at presentations* or poster** sessions and running a session on metrological traceability of measurements in the health sector.

Conférences LNE :

  • - "Metrology for Biofuels" - Paola Fisicaro, Sophie Vaslin-Reimann (LNE - Paris)
  • - "Metrological characterization and traceability of in situ probes for continuous water quality monitoring: a case study" - Nathalie Guigues, R. Champion, J. Lachenal and E. Hance (LNE - France)

Buy Quiet 2011: purchasing attitudes through simplified product noise ratings

An International INCE Symposium organized by INCE/Europe in cooperation with BAuA (Germany), CIDB (France) and INRS( France), in partnership with CAETS.

The objectives of the symposium are to stimulate "buy quiet" purchasing attitudes through simplified noise ratings and to provide manufacturers with the information needed to design low noise products.

LNE member of organizing committee will present a conference untitled: "The different types of information available to characterize the noise of products"

European LIDAR Mapping Forum (ELMF)

The ELMF is the main event in Europe about applications of Light Detection And Ranging (or LIDAR) technology. In 2010, there were more than 600 entrants from 46 countries at this forum.

This year, Jean-Baptiste Henry, project manager at LNE’s remote sensing department, will hold a conference entitled " Synergistic use of laser and infrared scanners for mobile thermal mapping of buildings" which will present the SYSCAM-Thermo3D research project, led by LNE together with INSA Strasbourg’s photogrammetry laboratory. The objective of this project is to develop a land acquisition system, using an infrared scanner and a laser profilometer to collect, process and render thermographic data on building facades.
