Second Annual FDA Inspections Summit

Organised by FDA news this congress aims at helping healthcare and medical decision makers get familiar with current regulations in the US, their evolution, and provides guidance on how to prepare for inspections.

Marc-Henri Winter, the director of the subsidiary G-MED North America will hold a conference on October, 23rd ,on the PMAP programme (Pilot Multipurpose Audit Programme) jointly set up by the FDA and the Canadian Ministry of Health.

APMF 2007 - Asia-Pacific Symposium on Measurement of Mass, Force and Torque

Organised by the Australian National Measurement Institute, this congress brings together laboratories from the Asian Pacific region (Japan, China, New Zealand…) to address measurement issues in the fields of mass, force and Torque.

On a visit to LNE, Dr Bigell, in charge of mass and acoustics at the National Measurement Institute of Australia, asked Tanguy Madec, Manager of the mass, density and viscometry unit at the LNE to present during the APMF congress 2007 the development work in the LNE new mass calibration laboratory, its equipment as well as the realisation of the dissemination between 100 µg and 5 tons from the French national prototype.

EFFoST/EHEDG Conference 2007 - Practical application of research results

Organised by the EFFoST (European Federation of Food Science and Technology) and the EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group), this conference gathers European experts from the agrofood industry to address issues such as manufacturing processes, food safety, etc.

Guillaume Gillet, a PhD student on work experience at the LNE, will cover consumer safety and present a poster entitled "A knowledge base for the rapid identification of the formulation of plastic materials intended to be in contact with food", jointly drafted by the university of Nancy (Laboratory of science and food engineering - ENSAIA - INPL) and the INRA ( UMR 1145, Food Industry Engineering).

Klaus von Klitzing seminar : News from Quantum Hall Physics

Klaus von Klitzing, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for physics in 1985 for his discovery of the Quantum Hall Effect, will hold a conference on Tuesday 27 November in Trappes. He will review the last experimental results achieved by his team on the subject: : QHE research in graphene, understanding of electron-electron interaction phenomena and measurements of the current distribution in QHE devices

Organised by Informa Life Sciences, this conference introduces the differences between American and European regulations, as well as the evolution of the latter. Marc-Henri Winter, the director of the subsidiary G-MED North America, will hold a conference on November, 28th on the ongoing review of directives relating to medical devices (93/42/EEC) and active implantable medical devices (90/385/EEC).
