The voluntary NF mark certifies that an industrial or consumer product complies with quality criteria defined in French, European or international standards. In many cases the product must also satisfy further specific market requirements.
LNE issues the NF mark for over 60 product categories in a wide range of sectors: packaging, equipment for local authorities, medical and health products, consumer products, construction and habitat, and energy and environment.
Characteristics examined include serviceability, safety, service life, etc.
LNE also issues the NF-Environnement mark for bin liners. This mark is awarded to products which meet specific environmental criteria.
