LNE plays a leading role in developing and applying the European statutory certification mechanism (CE marking). It is a notified, designated or competent body, or an approved inspection body, for over 20 European Directives.
[Statutory certification - CE marking]
LNE is also an authorized certification body under French law (legal metrology, identity photographs) and international regulations (packaging for transport of dangerous goods, OIML).
LNE/G-MED is France's only notified body for European Directives covering the medical sector. At international level, LNE/G-MED is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Taiwan's Ministry of Health, and is recognized as a conformity assessment body (CAB) by the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
